Growth is expressed as a "percentage growth rate per year averaged over the period in question".
This is like compound interest. For example an average growth rate of 5% per year would lead to 165% growth over 20 years because 1.05^20 = 2.65.
Click on each station to see a time-series graph of usage.
The colour of each station indicates trend in the relevant time period (Map 1) or the year of peak usage (Map 2).

Nearly all stations have seen long-term growth 1998 - 2023.
Map 2: Year of peak usage
Black - stations with peak usage in 2023.
Purple - stations with peak usage just before the pandemic.
Red - stations with peak usage around the millennium.
